Sembmarine SLP voted ‘One to Watch’ at regional industry awards

Sembmarine SLP have been recognised as the One to Watch at industry trade body East of England Energy Group’s (EEEGR) end of year awards.

The awards ceremony, which took place at the Norwich City Football Ground last month, saw companies working in the energy industry come together to celebrate the many accomplishments that have taken place throughout the year. After a three year hiatus, awards were presented to companies in recognition of their achievements and their commitment to the industry.

Other winners on the night included Vattenfall, Armultra, CeraPhi Energy, SaxonAir and Aquaterra. The team at SLP have been working tirelessly to cement themselves within the offshore wind service provider market, and alongside winning the Hornsea 2 planned preventative maintenance contract earlier this year from Ørsted, this award has proven what a great decision it was!

Speaking of the win, Colin Yaxley, Sembmarine SLP Managing Director, said: "I'm beyond proud that Sembmarine SLP Ltd have won this award. You might not think that a company with over 50 years’ experience would be one to watch, but for a number of years now we’ve been working to transition from a fabricator to an offshore service provider, already with new contracts under our belt.

I’d like to thank to the team at SLP, who without their commitment and hard work, none of this would be possible. I also want to thank Sembcorp Marine Ltd for their support and trust in me to deliver a transition plan for SLP, ensuring continued success and an exciting future both locally and around the globe.”

EEEGR are a membership trade body with over 200 member businesses ranging from large developers spanning multiple countries through to local supply chain businesses. These businesses range from marine organisations, onshore and offshore wind providers, education providers, oil & gas companies and decommissioning specialists.
