SLP safety benefits local charities

On Thursday 11th August Sembmarine SLP held their latest Safety Observation Scheme (SOS) charity awards where cheques amounting to £11,500 were given to 9 local charities. The scheme encourages employees and subcontractors to keep safety conscious and in return SLP contribute to a charity fund as a reward for safe working. SLP clients are also encouraged to contribute and current clients Siemens Transmission and Distribution Limited and Statoil, whose Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm substation has been successfully completed at SLP’s Hamilton Road site, have been supporting SLP to boost the fund.

Sembmarine SLP successfully complete Dudgeon Offshore Wind Project
5th August 2016
On Friday 5th August the Lowestoft built Dudgeon Offshore Wind substation topside left the Sembmarine SLP Hamilton Dock 100% mechanically completed and 100% commissioned to sail away to its location approximately 32km off the coast of Cromer in North Norfolk. The topside joins the jacket structure which was successfully installed in May.

Made in Lowestoft Dudgeon Jacket installed in seabed

The offshore substation jacket for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm, made in Lowestoft by Sembmarine SLP, has been successfully installed in the seabed on site. The four-legged jacket, designed and built by Sembmarine SLP, stands at a near-perfect verticality of 0.01 degrees.

Sail away of latest made-in-Lowestoft offshore structure
12th May 2016
The jacket foundation for the Dudgeon offshore windfarm substation departed from Sembmarine SLP on 11 May 2016. The 1,500 tonne structure was manoeuvred out of the harbour at Lowestoft on a barge, towed by three tugs.

Dudgeon
The offshore facility has been designed, engineered, procured and constructed in Sembmarine SLP’s Lowestoft yard and includes suction bucket technology, a first for an offshore substation in UK waters. Part of Statoil’s £1.5 billion Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm project to power more than 410,000 UK homes, the structures have been designed to meet exacting specifications.
