Joined SLP in 1991. Over 30 years’ experience in heavy engineering, design, construction and project management involving on and offshore work for oil majors and project management groups in the oil, gas and the nuclear industries. Extensive experience in the management of ‘fast track’ EPC and EPIC contracts.
Joined SLP in 2007. 12 years’ experience at a senior management and director level specialising in Finance and IT systems predominately working in service, manufacturing and engineering sectors. Leads corporate, accounting and IT departments and oversees systems control and development.
Head of Compliance (QHSE)
Joined SLP in 1984. Worked in the offshore oil and gas, petrochemical and renewable energy industries in compliance for 38 years. Managed SLP Quality functions since 1991 and Head of Compliance since 2001. Played a major role in the development of the SLP Management Systems and the achievement of, and continued approvals to, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Extensive experience in QHSE management for EPC and EPIC contracts.
Stephen Durrant MSc, BSc
Joined SLP in 1989. Over 25 years’ experience in engineering, design construction and project management involving offshore oil, gas and renewable energy projects. Engineering Manager since 2000 with extensive experience in the engineering management of multiple international EPC and EPIC projects which include joint ventures and project management groups.
Project Engineering Manager
Joined SLP in 1982. Over 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, predominately in piping, mechanical and safety design engineering. Adept at full system design and package management as well as management of multi discipline engineering and drawing office teams on multiple projects for numerous clients.
Joined SLP in 1989 and completed a 4 year training programme in the design office. Also held senior design positions and construction co-ordination roles for various large fabricators and oil and gas majors. Extensively experienced in the offshore installation and hook-up of SLP projects both in UK waters and overseas, brownfield modifications, flowlines and rig interfaces. Heads SLP’s successful Offshore Services Group.
Joined SLP in 2015. 28 years of experience in the Petrochemical and Energy Industries including senior management roles in both operations and project environments. Significant experience in Subsea Engineering and Fabrication for the Oil and Gas and Wind Energy Industries including green and brownfield projects, turnaround, maintenance and construction management.
Human Resources Manager
Joined SLP in 2014 initially as Human Resources Officer progressing to Human Resources Manager in 2016. A Human Resources professional with a strong knowledge of employment law legislation, dealing in business strategy, change management, recruitment and retention. Leading a department providing a comprehensive Human Resources service to the business.

Extensive experience in the management of design and engineering, planning, materials and construction co-ordination of multiple international EPC and EPIC projects including joint ventures and project management groups.
Joined SLP in 1974. Responsibilities include the construction and fabrication of all structural works through the company’s workshop facilities, including sequencing, build methods, production planning and labour forecasting in line with the project targets and plans. Responsible for managing the construction works from first cut to completion and final loadout.
Joined SLP in 2012. CIPS qualified with 16 years of Procurement experience across a variety of manufacturing and industrial sectors. Manages both the Project and Corporate Procurement Teams based in Lowestoft. Significant experience in managing domestic and international supply chains for complex and lengthy purchase order awards.
Latest Case studies
In September 2015 Sembmarine SLP was awarded the contract to carry out the construction of the Power Generation Module (PGM) and Bridge Links for the Maersk Oil Culzean project development in the North Sea.
The offshore facility has been designed, engineered, procured and constructed in Sembmarine SLP’s Lowestoft yard and includes suction bucket technology, a first for an offshore substation in UK waters. Part of Statoil’s £1.5 billion Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm project to power more than 410,000 UK homes, the structures have been designed to meet exacting specifications.
